It started in light rain and finished in sunshine as 12 couples played for the ‘Claret Jug’ – the annual Ladies Invitation tournament.
Chris Wilcock and Malcolm Huggett not only won, but were the only couple to remain undefeated, winning all four of their group matches before defeating Ruth Horton and Rob Archer, who won three of their group matches, in the final.
Malcolm, who thanked the organisers and ladies on behalf of the guests, said that it had been a very enjoyable and well organised day – a view echoed by everyone who took part.
