Cleeve Cricketers, 2017 Sportsmen's Day Champions

Our annual Sportsmen’s Day attracted a full turnout of 28 teams and was blessed with warm, dry weather.

Winners were the Cleeve Cricketers, Terry Barter, David Lock, Mike Wilkinson and Jeff Rawles pictured above receiving their trophy and cash prize from our president Don Manning.

The final finished all sqaure after 10 ends so and extra sudden-death end had to be played, Runners-up were the Bash Street Gang, Ian and Joe Crane, Chris Luke and Johnny Matthews.

The third and fourth placed play-off was quite so close with Yatton Gasheads, Ivor Watts, Stephen Lovell, Phil Arnold and Porsche Eade, emerging victorious over the Cottage Loaf team of Keith Westlake, Richard Aldridge and Pete and Glynis Woodhouse.

Bowls club president Don Manning presented the prizes.

The event was sponsored by Robin King Estate agents and Butcombe Brewery.

Thanks to everyone who took part and all club members who helped on the day with special thanks to tournament organiser Chris Wilcock.
