Kate has previously played in two-wood and four-wood singles, senior singles and Johns Trophy. This year she teamed up with Ann to represent Somerset in the senior pairs. The two are pictured left with Somerset president Trudy Bishop.

“It doesn’t get any easier,” said Kate. “It’s always very nerve wracking and hard to keep calm and focussed before and during the game.

“Sadly we lost our first game but that meant we could relax and support our fellow Somerset ladies playing their competitions”.

It was Ann’s first time playing in the Championships and a few days after the senior pairs she returned to compete in the four wood singles but unfortunately was beaten by a very experienced player from Yorkshire.  Nerves played their part too!
