Ann, playing in Ladies Four Wood Singles Final, faced England International  Stef Branfield of Clevedon B.C. In blustery conditions, the lead changed hands for the first 12 ends or so  until, gradually, her opponents experience started to tell giving her a little  more consistency in tricky conditions. The final result was a win for Steph 21-13.

A great performance by Ann, not only in the final but also in the previous five rounds.

Kate and  Brian followed  onto the same rink but that didn’t help as the wind got stronger accompanied by near horizontal rain.

Their opponents were father and daughter duo of Chris Frost and Karen Malone of Street B.C., recent winners and runners-up.

Kate and Brian somehow frittered away a comfortable lead and found themselves three down with two ends to play. They managed to get the required three shots and won by the narrowest of margins, despite a wrong bias from Brian on the last end!

Congratulations to them on becoming County Mixed Pairs Champions, a repeat of the win in 2010.

Yet another good day for Congresbury B.C
