Congresbury Ladies won Somerset’s Fear Cup competition after a tightly fought game at Ashcombe Park on Saturday (Sept 8).
The ladies began their Fear Cup campaign with wins against Ashcombe Park, Mark Moor, Victoria, St Andrew’s and then met Street Bowling Club for the semi-final played on a neutral green at Yeovil Bowling Club.
In the final they came up against strong favourites 2017 Fear Cup winners Portishead RBL. Despite being 10 shots down at the halfway mark, Congresbury held their nerve to emerge winners by five shots.
