Friday 6th September saw the end of our 2019 Friday Night League (FNL).
A huge thank you from us all to Ruth & her helpers for the fantastic buffet they prepared & which we all enjoyed… I think it was the best ever!
Ruth & Clive did a great job organising the teams initially, particularly adding in several new members after the start, always ensuring FNL ran smoothly every Friday. Also thanks to Pat & Barry for supplying us weekly with the hot dogs.
The hard fought battle to be 2019 FNL Champions started in May and along the way not many dodgy dealings or bribes were spotted…. but then even the jack could hardly be spotted by the last team on the green last Friday as it was so dark!
Going into the final game the winning team were clearly the leaders & couldn’t be beaten. This was Geoff Wilcock’s team, consisting of…. Geoff Wilcock (Captain), Dave Byett, Clive Nunn, Gail Lee, Alan Collins, Andy Knight & Jayne Craig.
Everyone loves FNL – it’s such fun & a great social evening. We are thrilled that Clive & Ruth have provisionally agreed to run it again next year 2020.
