Congresbury Bowls Club was proudly represented at the Somerset County Finals in the Mixed Pairs, Mixed Triples and County Singles. What a fantastic Finals Day for Congresbury Bowling Club at the Clevedon Bowls Tournament, with our players enjoying an outstanding run of success and bringing home a fantastic haul of trophies. Congratulations to Kimi on a fantastic Somerset Bowls Finals Weekend. At lunchtime, Kimi produced an outstanding performance to win the Men’s 2 Wood Singles Final in convincing fashion, becoming the Somerset Men’s 2 Wood Champion. In the afternoon, Kimi faced Louis Rideout in the Men’s 4 Wood Singles Final. He battled hard throughout and played some excellent bowls, but on this occasion Louis came out on top. Kimi has had a great result at Somerset County Semi-Finals in Street, producing two outstanding displays to reach both the Two Wood Singles and Four Wood Singles county finals. By winning both semi-finals, Kimi has now secured qualification to represent Somerset at the prestigious Bowls England National Finals at Leamington Spa in August, with the opportunity to become a double Somerset champion when he contests both county finals next weekend. It was a weekend to remember for the England U25 Squad at the British Bowls U25 International Series, with the teams bringing home both gold and silver medals. The final of the Bristol Open Junior Singles took place tonight at Avonvale between Madi and Kimi. For the second year running, it was an all-Congresbury final. On a tricky Avonvale green, both players produced a hard-fought and entertaining match. In the end, Madi came out on top to claim a well-deserved victory.
