Congresbury Juniors

Four junior bowlers represented Congresbury Bowls Club at the Bowls England Under 18 National Singles event at Oxford BC on 11th-12th May where they competed against some of the top junior bowlers in the country. Kimi Powell, Lucas Powell, Madi King and Zach Broom started the tournament on Saturday with the group stages. Tony Hall from the Bristol Dementia Action Alliance (BDAA) recently came to the club to give a very informative talk on many aspects of dementia. The audience heard about the different forms of dementia, the ways it presents itself and the methods we should all learn about how to deal with those who have the disease. Report: Men vs WEDMORE PLATE FINAL v St Andrews (WSM) – September 03, 2023

Congresbury Men looked to retain the Wedmore Plate, they had booked their place in the final after some fine wins against Weston Bath, Portishead RBL, West Backwell and Bristol St Annes. In the final Congresbury played Weston St Andrews at Taunton Vivary in some fantastic bowls conditions, unfortunately for Congresbury they were unable to retain the the Wedmore Plate and lost to St Andrews who were stronger than Congresbury on the day.
